When can I start driver education?
Before attending the first class, you must be 15 years old and obtain a Learner Permit from the Driver License Division by taking and passing the State Written Test. Logan, UT DLD
You are required by law to have your permit at least six months before obtaining a license (even if you are already 16). It would be best to take a class approximately six months before reaching age sixteen, but the law allows you to start the class as early as age 15.
Why should I take driver education so soon?
To have the knowledge to practice effectively with your parents (i.e., right of way laws, maneuvers, proper driving techniques).
To develop good habits rather than unsafe practices that may have to be corrected in order to pass the Driving Test.
Do I need a permit to start classes?
Yes, you need a permit before registering for driver education classes and behind-the-wheel lessons.
What will I have to complete before I can get my license?
You must obtain a learner's permit from the Driver License Division. This is accomplished by passing the written test.
You must take and pass driver's education. This includes completion of both the classroom and behind-the-wheel portions.

The classroom section must be completed before behind-the-wheel lessons can be scheduled.

All of our instructors are licensed by the state.
What is your refund policy?
Students who withdraw before the first class period are eligible for a refund.
Behind-the-Wheel
Do your cars have special safety equipment?
Each training car is issued a passenger-side brake, basic first aid kit, fire extinguisher, a tool to break the side window and cut the seat belt, and flashlight.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?
You must log in to our website or contact your instructor to cancel your driving lesson.
How do I schedule a behind-the-wheel lesson?
Login to your account on our website to schedule your driving lessons.

Yes, you need a permit before you can register for driver education classes and behind-the-wheel lessons.
Can I request a specific driving instructor?
Students will be assigned a driving instructor randomly. At the beginning of in-person courses, the class is divided into groups and assigned to specific driving instructors.
Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?
Yes, you will have the same driving instructor for each drive.
What will I learn during my behind-the-wheel lessons?
During behind-the-wheel lessons, students learn how to operate a vehicle. They learn maneuvers used to change direction, park, and change lanes, speed limits for residential and business areas, right-of-way rules for different types of intersections, merging, stopping, and starting, line of sight, the habit of signaling, checking mirrors and blind spots before changing position on the road, what bad habits not to do, and much more.
Can I use my own car?
You may not use your own car. You will use a vehicle designated for behind-the-wheel lessons. The Logan City School District insures these vehicles.
Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?
You do not have to have your own insurance to drive our training vehicles. As long as you are registered at Logan High School, you are covered by the district's insurance policy.
Will other students be in the car with me?
Yes, other students will be in the car during your scheduled drive time for observation. There could be two to three students in the car.
Do you offer home pick-up and drop-off?
We do not offer home pick-up or drop-off. Lessons start and end at Logan High School.
